As a first-class tuna tournament, the Casco Bay Bluefin Bonanza combines highly-skilled anglers from all over the northeast in a contest of competition, comradery and fun. We also understand the importance and the reward of giving back to our communities and as an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Casco Bay Bluefin Bonanza Tuna Tournament

is committed to the purpose of raising and expending funds in support of educational scholarships to deserving individuals and giving charitable donations to those in need. To that end, we will use all donations made by charity auction goers, raffle ticket buyers and our sponsors for a scholarship fund to support students in Maine’s community college and technical school systems and other deserving entities.

Letter from the President

We did it! Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers, generous support from our many sponsors and enthusiastic participation by our fishermen we were able to make the inaugural Casco Bay Bluefin Bonanza an unqualified success. Our efforts were so successful that in our first year we were able to award scholarships to each of Maine’s seven community colleges while also providing funding to critical bluefin tuna research efforts.

Planning is already underway and we hope to make our 2020 event even bigger and better. With a year under our collective belts we hope to make things run even more smoothly and we will be adding a special one-day mini tournament for “mini” fishermen.

So once again we extend an invitation to all qualifying captains and crews to join us. This is an Open format/limited entry tournament, open to all vessels with an Atlantic Tunas General Category permit or HMS Headboat/Charter permit with commercial endorsement, but limited to 40 entrants on a first come, first served basis. We look forward to sharing the fun and fishing with you in August.

Tight lines and best of luck,

The CBBB Committee and Board of Directors

Bob Humphrey – President

Captain's Dinner

Lobster bake is limited to 200 tickets on a first come, first served basis at the door for $20 per ticket.  Each registered boat gets 2 complimentary tickets. Hot dogs and burgers for kids under 10 free of charge.

Southern Maine Community College is one of the schools that will benefit from our fundraising efforts. Administrators and students at SMCC have generously agreed to staff our tournament, managing all the catch records and handling social media.
